What’s New for the Month of March 2026

What’s New for the Month of March 2026

Not every improvement is about adding something new; sometimes it’s about making operations clearer, smarter, and more actionable.

March 2026 focuses on exactly that.

This release brings deeper visibility into fleet usage and introduces real-time operational intelligence for public transport systems—helping teams make faster decisions and maintain stronger control.

1. SmartBus Update

1.1 Unplanned Usage Report (Vehicle Utilization Visibility)

The Challenge
Understanding how vehicles are actually used is often difficult.

Transport teams typically lack visibility into:

  • Usage outside planned trips
  • Idle vs active utilization
  • Unnecessary or unauthorized movement

This often leads to operational inefficiencies and avoidable costs.

The Feature
A new Unplanned Usage Report has been introduced.

Available under:
Reports → Activity → Unplanned Usage Report

The report provides:

  • Vehicle usage during planned trips
  • Vehicle movement outside trips
  • Complete visibility into overall utilization

The Benefit

  • Full visibility of fleet usage
  • Identification of unnecessary movement
  • Better fuel and cost control
  • Improved operational discipline
  • Data-driven decision-making

Operations now go beyond trip tracking—offering complete visibility into how your fleet is actually being used.

1.2 AI Sensy WhatsApp Integration

The Challenge
Communication requirements vary across clients, and relying on a single WhatsApp provider can limit flexibility.

In many cases:

  • Clients require different providers for compliance or regional needs
  • Campaign-based messaging is not always supported
  • Switching providers requires additional effort and setup

The Feature
AI Sensy WhatsApp integration is now introduced as an additional provider.

  • Supports sending alerts and notifications via AI Sensy
  • Optional Campaign Name field added for campaign-based messaging
  • Works seamlessly with existing templates and alert logic

The Benefit

✔ Flexibility to choose WhatsApp providers
✔ Support for campaign-based communication
✔ No changes required in existing workflows
✔ Faster and smoother deployment

Communication is now more adaptable and ready for diverse client needs.

1.3 Enhanced KML Visualization for Trip Start & End Points

The Challenge

While downloading the KML file for a trip:

  • Start point, end point, and checkpoints appear identical
  • No visual distinction between key route points

This leads to:

  • Difficulty in identifying trip start and end
  • Time-consuming route validation
  • Reduced efficiency in route analysis

The Feature

Start and end points are now visually distinguished in KML files.

  • Start point displayed using a pin symbol
  • End point displayed using a pin symbol
  • Pins follow route color but remain visually distinct

The Benefit

✔ Clear identification of trip start and end
✔ Faster route validation
✔ Improved visualization clarity
✔ Better operational efficiency

Route understanding is now quicker and more intuitive.

1.4 Transport Tariff Enhancement (Fee Reminder & Tracking Control)

The Challenge

Fee reminder settings and tracking restrictions lacked flexibility and clarity.

  • “Notify Before” field was not intuitive
  • Same reminder logic across all payment terms
  • Tracking restriction was automatically applied
  • Limited control for schools

Current Functionality

  • Fixed reminder logic regardless of payment cycle
  • Tracking disabled automatically after overdue
  • No configurable option for tracking behavior

The Feature

Enhancements introduced in Transport Tariff configuration:

  • Renamed field to “Fee Reminder Period (Before Due Date)”
  • Reminder days aligned with payment terms
  • New option: Restrict Tracking in Parent App (configurable)

The Benefit

✔ Clearer configuration
✔ More relevant reminders
✔ Flexible tracking control
✔ Better alignment with real payment cycles

Fee management is now more flexible and user-friendly.

1.5 Absent Student Alert

The Challenge

When a student is marked absent:

  • No notification is sent to parents
  • Managers also lack visibility
  • Creates communication gaps and confusion

Current Functionality

  • Pickup and drop notifications are sent
  • Students can be marked absent via Driver App
  • No alert is triggered for absence

The Feature

A new Absent Student Alert is introduced.

  • Real-time notification when a student is marked absent
  • Sent to Parent (default)
  • Optional notification to Manager
  • Confirmation prompt added in Driver App

The Benefit

✔ Instant visibility for parents
✔ Improved communication
✔ Better transparency
✔ Reduced confusion in attendance

Student tracking is now more complete and proactive.

2. SmartTranzit – Public Transportation Update

2.1 Advanced Alert System (Real-Time Operational Intelligence)

The Challenge
Public transport operations require continuous monitoring and quick response.

Authorities need visibility into:

  • Missed stops
  • Early or delayed arrivals
  • Route failures
  • Schedule-level issues

Without structured alerts, issues can go unnoticed, increasing response time and impacting service quality.

The Feature
A comprehensive Alert Management System has been introduced.

New alert types include:

  • Stops Skipped
  • Before Time / Delay Arrivals
  • DNO (Do Not Operate)
  • Route Failed
  • Schedule Failed

Key capabilities:

  • Real-time alert generation
  • Configurable notification channels:
    • SMS
    • Email
    • In-app notifications
    • IVR
  • Detailed alert insights (vehicle, route, stop, driver)
  • Multi-language support (future-ready)

The Benefit

  • Real-time operational visibility
  • Faster response to incidents
  • Improved schedule adherence
  • Stronger accountability
  • Multi-channel alert communication

Operations are no longer just monitored—they are proactively managed through intelligent, real-time alerts.

March 2026 Release Summary

This month’s update focuses on two core areas: Visibility and Control.

With enhanced fleet usage insights, organizations can eliminate inefficiencies and make smarter operational decisions.
At the same time, real-time alerting ensures that public transport systems remain responsive, reliable, and accountable.

March 2026 is about one simple outcome:
giving you better clarity and faster control over your daily operations.
