1. SmartBus Key Updates

1.1 Optional “Forgot Password” Feature in Parent App

Schools can now enable or disable the “Forgot Password” option in the Parent App from School Rule → Parent Rule settings.

New Enhancement

  • A new checkbox under School Rule → Parent Rule lets schools disable the feature if SMS/Email services are not active or purchased.
  • When these services are inactive, OTPs will not be delivered — so disabling the option ensures a clear and consistent user experience.
  • When disabled, the “Forgot Password” option is hidden from the Parent App login screen.

Prevents OTP-related issues when SMS or email services are not enabled, giving schools control over the password reset feature and maintaining a smooth experience for parents.

1.2 Multi–Sub-Branch Vehicle Availability

Managing vehicles just got more flexible! Schools can now make a single-branch vehicle available across multiple sub-branches while keeping its primary assignment unchanged.

New Enhancement

  • A new ‘Sub Branch’ field is added under Settings.
  • Schools can select one or multiple sub-branches — or simply choose ‘All’ to make the vehicle available system-wide.
  • The vehicle remains owned by its main branch but becomes visible for operational use across selected sub-branches.
  • Applies to features like Trip Creation, Route Optimization, Change Vehicle, Emergency Bus Assignment, Live Tracking, Temporary Trip Creation, and Reports.
